I have always admired dancers. Their grace, form and sheer ability to make their movements look so effortless have amazed me from the time I was a small child in watching from my seat in a dark auditorium at my first performance of “The Nutcracker.” Seeing my first ballet experience was magical.

As an adult, I hold on to that initial childhood wonder and let that anticipation for the dance sweep me away. I enjoy Broadway shows and small theater performances and it’s always the dancers who steal the show for me.

I’m no Ginger Rogers; I do my dancing only once in a while at weddings. I am positive the reaction from viewers is far from starstuck awe; it’s most likely along the lines of hilarious embarrassment for me and my goofy movements.

But even with the giggles, I still love how I feel when dancing. That’s the best part: when you can leave it all behind and celebrate the music and just move your body. I can only imagine the feeling when someone masters a dance they have worked at for months or years and hears the first applause as an affirmation of their beautiful performance and stage presence.

We all juggle our passions in life with our obligations. Whether we are running marathons to reach a healthy weight goal, running to get the kids to their athletic practices on time after work or taking on new roles in our careers or family: We all run. In this month’s edition of Views & Voices we celebrate the energy of all the women who stand out as MVPs in their own arenas.

I recently switched roles from sales to writing as the Creative Director of the magazine. This new editorial role will continue to keep me very busy and I am excited to meet this challenge. The best part about the transition is that I will still spend my day with the same great
team of women, Heather Scott and Tammy Zieminick. And I am also pleased to introduce our new sales consultant, Sara Frazier from the New Castle area. Also a talented jewelry artist, Sara, is no stranger to balancing her own daily roles and artistic passions.
